February 19, 2016 10:47 AM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Since opening its first Harlem school in 2006, Success Academy Charter Schools has swiftly grown to 34 high-performing schools, serving 11,000 kids from Bed-Stuy to the Bronx. They are scaling to 100 great schools serving 50,000 children across New York City, bringing transformational change here and across the country.

Success Academy is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their team -- someone who will advise schools on high-level legal matters. Through conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda, preparing training materials, conducting investigations, drafting policies and procedures, and assisting in compliance reporting requirements as well as litigation when it arises, among other responsibilities, Legal Counsel will ensure that Success Academy staff can dedicate their time to teaching and learning at our schools. As a key player they will be part of a larger Advisory Team that is working tirelessly to provide support for our schools and scholars.

As a member of the Advisory Team, the Legal Counsel will work closely with school leaders and other Success Academy departments. Legal Counsel must be someone who has:

● Strong research, writing, problem solving, and analytical abilities

● Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

● Attention to detail, yet works efficiently

● An ability to work well under pressure and keep track of multiple projects/deadlines

● An eagerness to learn and a passion for education reform
