The Safety Net Project (SNP) at the Urban Justice Center seeks applicants for the position of Staff Attorney. The Staff Attorney will focus on landlord-tenant practice.
The attorney will be responsible for providing direct legal representation to Bronx tenants and tenant associations in the area of landlord-tenant law, including affirmative litigation (e.g., HP actions and rent strikes). The attorney’s advocacy duties will include (but are not limited to): training residents on tenants’ rights issues, assisting with regulatory advocacy, staffing housing clinics in the Bronx, staffing intake in Bronx Housing Court, maintaining and providing advice and referrals. This job will require some evening meetings and the attorney will be seated in our Bronx office.
