Martha Tessler, Board member. Her bio should read: Martha is currently court attorney to the Honorable Manuel J. Mendez, Civil Court Judge, New York County. From 1997 - 2006, Ms. Cappelluti-Tessler handled insurance defense work. She was a litigation associate and spent her last six months as supervisor in New York County for Baker, McEvoy, Morrisey & Moskovits, P.C., where she handled insurance defense cases involving motor vehicle accidents from commencement to trial or disposition. She has handled insurance defense cases for nine years and worked in private practice prior to that time period. She received her Juris Doctor from Touro College School of Law, in 1986, and is admitted to the New York State Bar, and the New Jersey State Bar, as well as the U.S. District Court. She is the mother of one son, age 15. She has also been a member of Aspen, as support group for families dealing with Aspergers syndrome, and currently is a member of LDANJ an organization that works with learning disabled students of all ages.
