VICTOR M. ESPINAL SCHOLARSHIP
The following program is available
to all attorneys who wish to meet
the requirements to practice law in
the United States.
On behalf of the board of directors,
I am pleased to announce that the
Dominican Bar Association, Inc. has
established the Victor M. Espinal
Scholarship. The Victor Espinal Scholarship
is named after our founding father
and scholarship sponsor Mr. Victor
Espinal, Esq.
DBA offers the Victor M. Espinal Scholarship
Award, in the amount of $1000.00 to
one individual each year in fulfillment
of one of its primary objectives,
which is to assist Dominican trained
and licensed attorneys, and attorneys
of other nationalities, in meeting
the requirements for the practice
of law in the United States.
To be eligible for the scholarship
you must:
(1) be an attorney trained outside
of the United States; (2) demonstrate
financial need; and (3) provide proof
of registration to take the bar exam
in New York, California or Louisiana.
The goal of the scholarship is to
help defray the costs associated with
preparing for the bar exam.
DBA will present a deserving individual
with the scholarship on January 13th,
2005 during Founder's Day. Founder'
Day emerged out a desire to celebrate
the legacy of our organization. The
event will provide an intimate social
setting where the original members
of DBA can meet and greet past and
present board members and can share
experiences and ideas. Formal invitations
will follow.
The application for the scholarship
is attached. The deadline is January
3rd, 2005. Please share this information
with your eligible friends.
